Challis House, 4 Martin Place
Replacement of 860 kW Central Chilled Water Plant

A cool solution for this heritage-listed property in the heart of Sydney
Project story
QEG was approached by the building manager, Abacus Properties, to provide options to replace the central chilled water plant at Challis House which had reached end-of-life. QEG provided an option report for both VFD screw and Danfoss Turbocor compressors, complete with ROI analysis, which demonstrated that the Turbocor option provided a similar payback period as the screw option but with significantly improved savings over the lifetime of the equipment. Subsequently Abacus opted for the Danfoss Turbocor option and engaged QEG on a design-and-construct basis. QEG implemented its robust project delivery methodology with weekly progress reports, providing efficient communications with all stakeholders for the duration of the project.
